Worksheets for Shark Tank Episodes
Want worksheets for Shark Tank Episodes that keep students thinking while they watch? I would give them a small number of things to notice. Too many questions can turn the lesson into a race to catch every detail. Too few can leave students watching without a purpose. Choose the business concept you want to discuss, then use the episode as a shared example. The worksheet should help students prepare for that conversation.
Give Students a Viewing Job
Start with one learning focus. You might want students to identify the customer, explain the problem, or notice how a presenter answers a difficult question. Tell students what to look for before pressing play.
Introduce only the vocabulary they need for the selected task. If the lesson involves an investment offer, explain the terms you will ask them to use. Students don’t need a full business glossary to discuss one pitch thoughtfully.
Preview the content yourself and choose a segment that fits your students. Consider the topic, language, length, and information available. Plan where to pause so students can record an answer or ask for clarification.
I would separate observation from opinion on the worksheet. First, ask what the presenter actually said. Then ask what students think about it. This helps them support a response with information from the pitch instead of only saying whether they liked the product.
Keep note-taking manageable. A short response about the customer and one question about the business can be enough to support discussion. You can ask for a more developed explanation after viewing, when students aren’t trying to listen and write at once.
During discussion, invite different interpretations. A student might see a useful product but question the price. Another might understand the price but doubt the customer demand. Ask what information would help them decide.
Then connect the viewing to students’ own work. Have them borrow a presentation technique, improve an explanation, or write a question they would ask about their own business idea. That gives the lesson a purpose beyond remembering the episode.
Check the resource description for episode requirements before assigning it. Classroom activity materials and access to the television content are separate things.
Explore the activities below and choose one clear viewing task. You can always add another concept once students are ready to discuss the first one.
